On a happier note I think I finally found a stroller!!! It's a Chicco travel system and it seems perfect!!! (Note: I found this online last night during one of Ava's kickboxing sessions so I haven't actually tried it out yet) I really want a stroller that is safe, has a nice sporty pattern, has a tray and cup holders, is easy to fold, and affordable. I love the idea of a travel system because if possible I would like to skip the snap and go stroller since you really only use it for a couple months. I was seriously looking into a Graco travel system but all their patterns are hideous! Then I loved the peg perego but the stroller you have to buy to make it a system is impossible to fold and the other one I found, the SI, doesn't have a tray :( I've changed my mind probably 5 times already about strollers but for some reason it seems like the biggest decision I have to make right now...or it's just something keeping me occupied :)
Speaking of BIG decisions did I mention that Dr. Katz wants to induce on December 18th??? It would be 9 days before my EDD but she said that she feels very comfortable doing it and even went as far as to set it up already at the hospital! It seems like a good idea for a few reasons...we would be home for Christmas, the hospital would probably be a lot less crowded (they said the busiest time of the year is the last week because of the tax deduction), and she may be a little smaller so there's a higher chance I can have her "naturally". John's coming to my next appointment with Dr. Katz to discuss it further but I am worried about a couple things...making sure her lungs are fully developed, the chances of having a c-section going up, and the degree of pain caused by inducing labor-I heard the contractions are much more intense!
Last Wednesday we went to West Hills for the hospital tour which was great! They seemed REALLY organized and REALLY slow! They only deliver 100 babies a month and have a nurse for every patient. The only downside is there's a 2% chance of sharing a room since the rooms are set up for it but they said that 98% of people end up getting their own room and it's great because then the husband sleeps in the other bed :) They also have a great program where you spend the 1st hour together with your baby to encourage breastfeeding and "kangaroo time" which is skin to skin contact with your baby. Then they'll take her to be cleaned and examined with John while I get a little time to rest before they get back. I'll be able to have Ava in my room with me all the time except for when the pediatricians come to check on the babies or if I want a break to take a nap. I think I'm going to want her as close to me as humanly possible the whole time! Another nice thing is that John is allowed to bring any food in so I'll be sure to bring lots of take out menus :)
